I’ve had a passion to build a smart, connected baby nursery ever since CES 2017. This week we unbox Amazon Echo! It’s the first step to this new smart baby nursery project after a few months of ideating and saving for what we need. We’re going to follow up with the full build very soon.
This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
We had heard for months that our world was about to be turned upside down, but it wasn’t until March 5th that we really understood what that meant. Everyone was right… a baby changes everything…and I mean everything. It’s been three months since our little Henry entered this world and made us parents. This was a new title for both of us and one we had been dreaming about for quite a while. Henry made his grand entrance at 9:28pm on a gray and rainy Sunday night, and just like that, we were a family of three.
We had been preparing for months to bring him home – from painting his nursery, to stocking up on diapers, building his crib and scrubbing every surface (nesting is SO real!). Since Henry is our first child, we didn’t have any hand-me-down clothes from previous babies and I wanted to make sure we had plenty of soft and cozy outfits for him to wear in those early days. Friends kept telling us that Carter’s would have everything we would need, and we absolutely fell in love with their Little Baby Basics line. Their prints are the cutest around and their fabrics are so soft and durable. In my opinion, they had the best selection of baby boy clothes and it was hard to leave without buying the entire line! The original bodysuit was an absolute must for Henry’s wardrobe and we particularly love the side snap option that makes dressing baby a breeze. It made this mama happy to stock up on cute baby clothes that I knew would last forever and look cute too!
There’s nothing sweeter than washing those tiny clothes for the first time and filling his dresser with his first little outfits. And there’s nothing more bittersweet than watching him outgrow his newborn styles and change in the blink of an eye. But with Carter’s affordable prices, it makes it easier to stock up on all those first year sizes. Henry is currently wearing 3 month clothes, but I know it will be any day now that he’ll outgrow those as well. Until then, I’m going to enjoy every minute, because a baby changes every day and I want to remember this sweet little stage forever.
